Posting your organisation and events
Process 1: Assessing which organisations and businesses can be featured
Responsible Officer: Head of Economic Recovery and Regeneration
Guidance:
- The website aims to support and promote the local visitor economy – businesses and organisations linked to hospitality, leisure, and retail such as attractions, sport, art and cultural venues, hotels, restaurants, and health & beauty businesses are welcome to build themselves a profile on the site, promoting their offer which is then searchable by visitors.
- We are unable to feature the following businesses: Gambling premises, vape shops, adult shops and shisha bars.
- We will contact the administrator for the organisation annually to ensure the information on the site remains accurate, and at other times as appropriate.
- Please ensure your photographs are a high resolution to best promote your site (we recommend that the images you submit be landscape and 1500px+ width).
While we take a wide view of the businesses and organisations that make up the visitor economy, we reserve the right not to feature a business we believe does not have a visitor offer for either residents or visitors from further afield looking for activities to do and places to visit in Hounslow. This website is not designed to be a place for all local businesses to advertise themselves.
Process 2: Accredit “Venue Administrators” for self-posting of events and offers only
We see this as being primarily for those organisations who do not have a regular visitor offer – so they do not have premise or do not run regular activities eg you might be a Friends of group with an annual community day so may not need a full profile but will want to promote events.
Responsible Officer: Business Services and Investment Officer
Guidance:
- Each application will be judged individually and we reserve the right to question why an individual or organisation might want to post events, or gather further information on the types of events.
- We will email the contact quarterly to remind them of the opportunity to promote events
- Applicants linked to a business or organisation with an existing site profile will be accredited on a fast-track. Those without an existing profile who wish to be “Venue Administrators” will be assessed as per process 1 on a case by case basis
Process 3: Approve postings of events and offers
Responsible Officer: Business Services and Investment Officer
- Event proforma – contributors to complete the form fully (as appropriate) to enable prompt approval of the posting
- All events posted must comply with existing Government and Local LB Hounslow licensing and events legislation and regulations.
- All events postings and offers will be reviewed by the council team (contributors should allow up to 5 working days for this process which could involve requests to redraft or change posts).
- LBH reserves the right to refuse or remove postings where concerns are raised.
- LBH reserves the right to suspend posting rights of any venue administrator.
Both the above processes are subject to change as issues and opportunities arise once the website is publicly available
