Part hypnosis, part therapy, {Paradise in the Sun} Or a garden of all sorts of pleasant flowers is a celebration of the joy of community and belonging and the sensory pleasures of being in nature. The immersive audio experience invites you to slow down, disconnect from the ‘noise’ of city living and instead reconnect with the natural environment.
About the experience
Included in your ticket to visit their award-winning walled Kitchen Garden, {Paradise in the Sun} Or a garden of all sorts of pleasant flowers invites you to participate in a multi-sensory walking route using an audioguide. Spoken instructions ask you to reflect, to lie on the grass, to look up at the sky and wave at the planes flying overhead, to soak up the smells and listen to the hidden sounds of the garden, to walk mindfully and to fully engage with your surroundings using all of your senses. Find out more.

The award-winning Polish theatre company Teatr Ad Spectatores perform Aliens from Mons lying down on the stage. A camera films their movements and projects them on a screen as a mix of Chaplin-style silent film antics (complete with matching music and flickering captions) and circus-like live action. Aliens of Mons is truly entertaining — a magic mix of comedy, quirkiness, and just plain brilliance. A “movie in a theatre” experience that brings about all sorts of magical weirdness to the stage.

The grand finale for Summer of Culture is Deblozay (“Bedlam” in Haitian Creole) by internationally renowned outdoor performance company, Rara Woulib. Working with community groups, residents and local artists from across the borough, Rara Woulib will create a spectacular, mass participation event in Hounslow town centre to create a night-time trip through the memory of Hounslow and its inhabitants where theatre, image and soundscapes come together in stunning fashion. The project unearths and celebrates ‘lost memories’ of the location and its communities, drawing in as wide a range of participants and audiences as possible, including those whose voices are rarely heard.
