Enchanted Woodland - Syon Park

It’s that time again! Time to dig out your coats and venture out to see the twinkly winter lightshows around London. It’s a beautiful way to start off your festive season isn’t it, wandering about in your wellies with a hot drink warming your hands.
Have you ever wondered where it all began? Well, at Syon Park, way back in 2005 we found ourselves walking through our historic arboretum and trying to think of ways to encourage our visitors to appreciate the beauty of winter trees.
Someone suggested lights, so late one summer evening we put a few bike lights (yes, really) shining up a few tree trunks, we were pretty chuffed with the results and an event was born.

That first year we had a few hundred people a night, but year on year we built on what we offered and it all grew and grew. These days we often welcome three thousand people to Syon each night and the lighting has become distinctly high tech, with music, lasers and interactive lights. (Although we do still have a place for bike lights and woodland animal vignettes!). They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, and it’s been evident over the years with more and more varied venues putting on spectacular illuminations across the UK.

This will be our 16th year of Enchanted Woodland! Our strengths are the sheer dedication and commitment of our team who make the event happen on top of their day jobs, a team who are secretly very proud of Syon, and it helps that we’ve got a fantastic collection of trees to play with, and a uniquely beautiful Great Conservatory.

And the night would not be the same without a delicious array of scrumptious street food available to purchase in our food hub! Plus this year we have a prosecco van!

Every Friday, Saturday and Sunday from 11th to 27th November. Doors open 5pm, last entry 7.40pm, event finishes 9pm.
