Jess Meehan will show you how to make your own plaster tiles, inspired by Boston Manor House’s 17th century ceilings .
Inspired by the plaster ceilings, participants will design and make their own plaster of paris tiles. Using clay as their mould; flowers, leaves, twigs etc. can be imprinted within their composition, they will “draw” in their design of a mythical creature (just like our State Dining Room ceiling) and include their initials and date as Lady Mary Reade did back in 1623.
We will also use a larger slab of clay can be collectively to test marks and textures and create a collaborative tile, which will become part of Boston Manor House’s collection for the future.
2 sessions available: 12.30-2PM / 2.30-4PM
Tickets at £2.88 per person. Book yours here!
