Volunteers at Hampton Kempton Waterworks Railway (HKWR) in Feltham are flat out, creating their very own ‘Dino’ dinosaur train for their great family dinosaur train weekend 24/25 September 2022.
Fortunately, HKWR have expert modellers in their volunteer team who have been very busy building ‘Dino’ the huge dinosaur train, which will pull the carriages for family trips around the railway at their Dinosaur event. “We’ve used chicken wire, fibreglass, polyester resin, and paint to create ‘Dino’ says volunteer Chris, “as well as bottle tops for teeth and paper cups for lids for the eyes. There’s also a massively long tail at the back to complete ‘Dino’ “. You can see ‘Dino’ in action over the weekend 24/25 September. Tickets prices are £2 for children 3-15 yrs (under 3s free) and £4 for adults. Advance booking only through Book Dinosaur Train
Open March to November, Sundays only and some Saturdays, HKWR is a heritage steam railway entirely operated by volunteers, which offers low-cost train rides and exciting events to the local community.
