16 more hidden gem brunch & lunch spots to try in Hounslow borough this spring

A few months ago we held a competition for locals to recommend their best brunch spots in Hounslow. We are happy to announce that our winner for the brunch recommendations competition is Brenda Daly who has her own award-winning microbakery, Daly Bread in Isleworth since 2017. Brenda also runs classes on baking and breadmaking and also helps organise the monthly Old Isleworth Market where she has a stall. As her prize, she received an delicious free lunch at the Clayton Hotel Chiswick.

Hounslow Borough is full of great choices, from waffles, and pancakes to salads, sandwiches and more traditional mains. If you’re looking for a place to get out and brunch, here are 16 more places where you can do just that. 

  1. The Royal Oak, Isleworth. 

The Royal Oak offers a warm welcome, delicious meals and a wide range of drinks, all served with a smile. They have Live Music back in the bar every Saturday night and a Quiz in the Dining Room every Sunday night. 

They offer a wide variety of food options – providing options like light bites and sandwiches to sumptuous Sunday lunches. Its traditional dishes are freshly prepared and all homemade, and they support local suppliers in the sourcing of their ingredients where possible.

Enjoy starters like flatbread and dips, Chef’s Soup of the Day, Moroccan spiced lamb kofta, pumpkin, cheese and sage tortellini and more. Mains include butternut squash, leek and spinach risotto, a sweet potato curry, grilled pork chop rosti, burgers, steaks, beer battered fish and more. Special menus are also available: midweek meal deal and light lunch menus.

Absolutely beautiful vegan and vegetarian food with a great atmosphere and great prices. Try Vegology for yourself and make it your go-to place for  a filling vegan brunch.

Vegology has the food you crave, and  all completely meet free. Feast on a flamed grilled quarter pounder or please  your palate with a stoned baked pepperoni pizza, or even flavour-bursting  buffalo wings. Other favourites include a full English, avocado & poached egg, egg bhurji bun, full Indian, flame-grilled sheesh skewers and more!   1. RADA

Rada is a great spot for breakfast, lunch and brunch! A welcoming space, full of good food, with coffee always on and brimming with love.

Rada is a social space, a fusion of a coffee house, a kitchen and an events venue, with relationships and people at its heart. We would recommend the pancakes and there is plenty more to choose from if savoury options are more your thing.

Breakfast favourites include a traditional full English, vegan toasted sourdough with hummus & avocado, a Mediterranean breakfast, organic porridge with oat milk and more. Brunch options include eggs royale, eggs benedict, their house special omelette, special kids lunch and more. Enjoy a range of delicious burgers, smoothies, milkshakes and desserts too!

  1. Fat Boys

Fat Boys is a Chiswick hidden gem. The owner Hossien and his lovely staff really know how to make everyone feel really welcome. The restaurant is tastefully decorated with wall to ceiling flora. Fat Boys is known for offering a wonderful breakfast with excellent customer service. 

Customers have said that the presentation of the food is great and that the balance of spice and flavours is sublime. The deep rich authentic flavours of the dishes are so unusual in the UK – some have called it some of the best Thai food in the area.

  1. Hyderabad Tastes

At Hyderabad Tastes, you get a taste of some of the best Indian food in the area. Hyderabad Tastes’ cuisine is South Indian and distinguished by a greater emphasis on rice and exotic spices than we are used to in curries to give a rather explosive taste of chilli.

The rice cakes are spongy, soft and fluffy which almost melt when bitten. This, accompanied by Dosa, Poori, Vada and Bajji form the most delectable ‘South Indian’ dishes that one can imagine eating whilst enjoying the company of family and friends.

Relish in South India’s most famous dish, Hyderabadi-Dum-Biryani, with its famous basmati rice, steamed meat, rich spices and interesting textures and flavours. This, served with lemon, onions, flavoured yoghurt and mirchi ka salan.

Mimi’s have created a dessert lovers menu that includes waffles, crepes and childhood favourites such as butterscotch tart and tottenham cake.   1. Tarantella Restaurant

  1. The Courtyard Restaurant

At The Courtyard Restaurant in Syon Park, guests can look forward to a contemporary casual dining experience. The light and airy space opens out onto an expansive courtyard, from where you can catch sight of Syon House’s Great Conservatory. With outside seating, it makes  the perfect place to sip and savour a glass of wine or beer with your meal.

The Courtyard Restaurant includes tasty breakfast options including avocado on toast and eggs benedict, lunch selections including a variety of sandwiches: rustic paninis and, for a treat, cream tea. When you visit, you can also enjoy a selection of hot and cold drinks, homemade cakes and scones straight from the oven.

  1. Verdict Bakery

At the Verdict Bakery you can experience handcrafted dishes that have been carefully selected, and expertly prepared. The Verdict marries both inside and outside spaces making alfresco dining ideal for whatever the occasion, or an escape from  the stress of London life. 

Their menu is filled with creative and appetising dishes prepared with passion, bursting with flavour embracing innovative techniques. You can treat yourself to a variety of products such as hand crafted cakes, olives, jams, roasted pepper spreads and a selection of handcrafted bread.

  1. Outsider Tart 

Outsider Tart is an authentic American bake shop and cafe which is devoted to all things sweet and yummy. A couple of professionals moved from New York to live and work in London and discovered that good, wholesome cupcakes, sweet pies and fresh tarts were really hard to come by. Every day they deck out the counter with freshly baked goodies – from cinnamon puffs and cupcakes, to gourmet sausage rolls, fresh sandwiches & a wide variety of brownies.

  1. Faanoos Restaurant

Faannoos in Chiswick serves traditional Persian cuisine. There is a snug rustic dining room with Middle Eastern decor and a clay oven at the front of the dining room. There is also wonderful outside seating for you to enjoy the weather with your meal. 

The Restaurant serves a wide range of meat options including chicken and lamb kebab, hummus and freshly baked artisan bread. There are also vegetarian options available such as rice based with aubergine and vegetables.

  1. La Vera Napolitan

At La Vera Napolitan you can try a selection of delicious Italian stone-baked pizzas, along with a great atmosphere and fantastic service.

Biting into La Vera’s pizza is just heaven! While you will find excellent pizza all over Italy, there is one place that’s absolutely the best  – Naples. This is where pizza was born and where it’s still king. La Vera Napolitan only uses ingredients they source themselves from in and around the Naples region – bringing the flavour of Italy to Strand on the Green. They have both vegetarian and gluten-free options available on their menu.

15. Banh Mi

Banh Mi is a  family run cafe which offers a range of hot and tasty Vietnamese dishes. If you are looking for a nice place to eat an international brunch, this is the place to visit. 

The menu at Banh Mi includes a tasty kohlrabi seafood salad, banh cuon, banh beo and com bi cha thit nuong. They have a range of delicious soups, grilled pork baguettes, fresh spring rolls, outstanding duck dishes and more. Sample some original-tasting bubble tea – one of their regular customers’ favourites.

  1. La Rosetta 

La Rosetta is a traditional Italian restaurant in Brentford that serves small plates, pastas, pizzas & mains in a rustic setting with outdoor tables. Staff are friendly and welcoming and will help you with your requirements. 

There are different types of pizza available including Napoli, Roma, Rosetta, Tonno, Parma and the popular classic Margherita. If you aren’t looking for a pizza, La Rosetta serves many more food options including Al Forno, Pesce, grilled lamb chops, salads and desserts.
