Call Out to Artists and Creatives for the Summer of Culture 2024 Programme ‘Tours and Trails’

Exploring Hounslow: Your Chance to Shape Summer of Culture 2024

Hey, Hounslow creative minds! We’ve got some thrilling news to share – Hounslow Council is on the lookout for artists and creatives to join hands in crafting an unforgettable Summer of Culture for 2024. If you’ve got a passion for art, culture, and a dash of adventure, this is your moment to shine!

What’s the buzz about?

Since its launch in 2022, Summer of Culture has been showcasing the culture, art, community activities and sports of the borough from June to September. This initiative is a joint venture between Hounslow Council, local artists, cultural organisations, and our amazing community. The goal? To turn Hounslow into a buzzing hub of creativity and culture – a place where residents love to live and that visitors can’t get enough of.

And what makes Hounslow tick? It’s our incredible town centres – Hounslow Central, Feltham, Chiswick, and Brentford. Now, imagine this: as part of the Summer of Culture 2024, we want to shake things up and explore these centres in entirely new and imaginative ways.

Calling all creatives: your time to shine

Here’s where you come in. Hounslow Council is commissioning self-guided walking tours and trails, and we’re on the hunt for proposals that are nothing short of mind-blowing. We’re talking about ideas that are creative, playful, and able to bring our borough to life in ways we’ve never seen before.

What Can You Explore? Anything and Everything!

Whether it’s through food, architecture, music, film, famous faces, or personal experiences – the sky’s the limit! We want your proposals to excite both residents and visitors alike. And guess what? You have the freedom to experiment and collaborate with other creatives, businesses, local history groups, and more.

How Do You Do It?

Think illustrative or digital maps, photographic tours, vox pops, or even virtual reality – the choice is yours. The end goal? Craft a piece that can be accessible to the general public. Your masterpiece will be uploaded onto inHounslow or the council’s website for everyone to enjoy.
