Grab your litter picks and pack some bin bags because it’s time for a spring clean.
Hounslow is once again supporting environmental charity Keep Britain Tidy’s annual cleaning event, and there’s still time to help give Hounslow some springtime beauty treatment.
The fortnight of cleaning activity across the country kicked off on 17 March, and runs until 2 April. The message is simple: join the #BigBagChallenge and pledge to pick up as much litter as possible. Remember, even one bag of litter makes a great big difference.
How to get involved
Simply plan your clean up event (as an individual or a group) and let the Keep Britain Tidy team know about how many bags you pledge to pick up. Full guidance available at www.hounslow.gov.uk/great-british-spring-clean
Help from us
Once you’ve registered, tell us about the clean-up event you are planning by emailing cleaner.greener@hounslow.gov.uk. The Council can provide free bags and lend you litter pickers for your event. We will also organise for your bagged waste to be collected after the clean-up.
Spread the word
Why not let everyone know what a fantastic job you’re doing?
Promote your event to other local Hounslow communities through your social channels. And don’t forget to tag us on Twitter (@LBofHounslow), Facebook and Instagram (hounslowcouncil, remembering to include #BigBagChallenge and #CleanerGreenerHounslow too.
