Outdoor Programme 2023

From outdoor theatre and dance to film and music, the spectacular events programme delivered fantastic entertainment all summer long from June to the end of September 2023.

Working alongside our local artists and culture partners we developed a programme which saw events take place right across Hounslow, with many offered either for free or at low cost.

Sketch on Location – Boston Manor House

In collaboration with Feltham Arts, the Hounslow community was invited to join artist Kate Evans to visit and sketch the newly refurbished historical gem in West London which had recently reopened to the public. Boston Manor House is a beautiful Grade I listed Jacobean manor house, situated in the heart of Boston Manor Park.

Cie Accrorap: PRÉLUDE – Bell Square Hounslow

In collaboration with Bell Square, French hip-hop dance company Cie Accrorap brought their most rhythmically compelling performance to date to Bell Square for a free show in June.

Brentford Canal Festival – Market Place and Brentford Lock Piazza

To celebrate our waterways, the Brentford Canal Festival recognised the importance of the waterways in establishing Brentford. In June, the Festival brought our community together for a day of fun where they were able to appreciate and enjoy life by the water. The programme included Folk Dance, Street Dance, Paddleboarding, Kayaking, Steel Pan Band, Boat Trips, Arts & Crafts Workshops, Maypole, Photo & Art Exhibits, Food & Drink and much more.

Company Zid/Said Mouhssine: Taroo – Bell Square Hounslow

In July, Bell Square was the venue for Taroo, a Parkour and circus comedy show telling stories from streets all over the world. A fusion of acrobatics, Chinese pole and urban street moves, the show was a very special London version of Taroo which had been developed in partnership with the Babylon Project.

Streets Alive – Hounslow High Street and Bell Square Hounslow

Hounslow families were treated to Streets Alive in July –  a day of street theatre, a cycle-powered wooden carousel and interactive street games made from recycled objects. All in collaboration with Bell Square.

Cie Yann L’Heureux: Flagrant Délire – Bell Square Hounslow

Urban free runner Tony Thich, in collaboration with Bell Square, used a multi-level staging to present a contemporary reimagining of the myth of Icarus that defied gravity and expectation and was expressed through the exhilarating music of Vivaldi’s Four Seasons.

Anhad – Hounslow High Street and Bell Square Hounslow

In collaboration with Bell Square, Anhad brought the town centre alive for the second year with a festival of South Asian outdoor arts – including dance, music, performance and DJ’s – featuring established and emerging artists from across the UK as well as those locally-based.

Feltham Arts – Summer Programme

Feltham Arts played a major role in the Summer of Culture 2023. With something for everyone, events and activities included Outdoor Arts for families, Feltham Station Gallery exhibitions, Arts Trails in Hounslow parks and much more.
